The 4 Parts of Medicare:
https://www.youtube.com/user/medicaremadeclear
Part A = Hospital Coverage (Inpatient) Is typically premium free because of taxes you paid during your, (or spouse's,) working years.
Part B = Medical Coverage (Outpatient) Is not premium free. The standard monthly premium for 2024 enrollees is $174.70.
Part C = Medicare Advantage
Part D = Prescription Drug
Once enrolled in Medicare A & B you have 2 options for coverage:
Option 1: Medicare Supplement / Medigap plan, along with a stand alone Part D prescription drug plan.
Medicare Supplement / Medigap plans can cover Medicare's Part A & B deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. (Plan F & C are available only to those whose Medicare is effective prior to 1/1/2020.)
A stand alone Part D Prescription Drug plan helps with the cost of generic and brand medications.
Enrolling into Part D is optional, however, if don't enroll when you're first eligible, and decide to enroll at a later date, you'll likely be subject to a late enrollment penalty.
Option 2: Part C / Medicare Advantage plans.
If collecting Social Security, you'll receive your Medicare Card within 3 months of turning 65, or the 25th month of collecting Social Security disability. If not collecting, you can call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 to enroll, or online at SSA.GOV.
You can delay enrolling into Part B of Medicare without penalty if you have employer coverage due to active employment, either yours or your spouse's, and the employer has more than 20 employees.
If working, and already enrolled in Medicare you'll have a 63 day Special Enrollment Period to enroll in a Medicare health plan.

I received my Pennsylvania Insurance license in April 2006 and began my career door knocking selling fire, and life insurance as well as collecting premiums from clients on my book of business. During this time I worked with companies such as United Insurance Company, Monumental Life Insurance, (now TransAmerica), and American General Life Insurance. In 2013 I was introduced to Chester Perfetto who offered me a job at his agency where he taught me all there was to know about Medicare, so much so, that in 2015 I felt confident enough to venture out on my own, and have never looked back. Since then I have helped thousands of people understand how to maneuver their way through the confusing Medicare maze and enroll them into the Medicare plan(s) of their choice.
I do not offer ever plan available in your area nor do I work for Medicare or the Federal Government.
